Briefing
Director Feike Santbergen made this beautiful short film about two kids and their babysitter playing hide-and-seek outside, and stumbling upon a family of immigrants who live in an abandoned building. The score needed to support the film, as well as the sudden shift in tone.
Execution
We worked narrowly with the director on this briefing. The score had to have many elements, including upbeat, child-friendly tracks as well as longer darker sections. After recording, we finalized the music in tandem with the director, inviting him over to our studio.
Result
‘Buut Vrij’ was widely received as a great short by Feike. It premiered at the Dutch Film Festival and was broadcasted on Dutch television, for which a 10-minute edit was made.
